Our #MakeADifference campaign seeks to recognise, thank and raise the profile of careers in care so to kick off a short series of videos with our staff, we are delighted to share Halina's story!

Halina explained:
I have worked in care for over 34 years and gained a lot of experience throughout the years! I have always lived in Hounslow and wanted to be in a caring role since I was 10 years old (this was not a popular choice with my family!).
I studied Health & Social Care at college and wanted to be a Social Worker, however as you were not able to do that until the age of 21 I started out as a Care Assistant which is where I stayed for a number of years working with the elderly and people living with a learning disability.
I then sought to progress my career and trained to be an NVQ Assessor & Verifier. After completing my studies, I spent an enjoyable time teaching Health & Social Care with my oldest student being over 70 years old!
I then had the opportunity to complete a teaching qualification then moved to work in domiciliary care as a Registered Manager.
I love my role here with Bluebird Care because it gives me the opportunity to truly make a difference every day as well as working with some quite incredible people!
