Bluebird Care (Hillingdon) joins Call to End World Elder Abuse
Bluebird Care (Hillingdon) joined the rest of the world recently to commemorate the eight annual observance of World Elderly Abuse Day.
The observance held each year on June 15th is part of a worldwide effort to help elderly and vulnerable adults who are exploited, neglected or financially abused.
Alvin Osei-Tutu, Director of Bluebird Care (Hillingdon) said;
Through quality and respectful care services we remain dedicated to its prevention and encourage others to do their part as well.
According to Action on Elder Abuse, over 500,000 older people experience elder abuse in in the UK and often it is multiple abuse. Residents are encouraged to learn and watch for warning signs of abuse, neglect and financial exploitation of elderly and vulnerable adults and speak up for their protection.
The office marked the day’s observance by having its care workers each wear a purple ribbon, the official colour of the world cause.
