The event held at the Saxon Hall was attended by 69 people who included customers both past and present. The afternoon tea was hosted by staff from Bluebird Care Herefordshire, who throughout the afternoon were kept busy chauffeuring the guests, decorating the hall, or beavering away in the kitchen serving the teas.
After tea, guests enjoyed entertainment which was put on by the Dolloway Dancers who performed various cabaret routines from the 1940s era.
Our special guest, Mayor Jim Keynon, drew the tickets for the raffle which included a large hamper, afternoon tea for two at Holme Lacy House Hotel, and a bottle of Bollinger champagne, along with various cakes and confectionery.
By the end of the afternoon, we had raised an amazing £402.17 for the Alzheimer’s Society. Director Hazel Godsall, thanked everyone for their generosity and promised to match the donations with a further donation from Bluebird Care Herefordshire which brought the total raised to £804.34.
We would like to say a big thank you to the following people:
- Mary and Tash who baked some fantastic cakes.
- Emma Deer of Hollybush Hire for the loan of her beautiful vintage crockery for the occasion (www.facebook.com/hollybush-hire)
- Wigmores of Monmouth for the delicious scones
