Meet our team of care professionals

Melissa Wildon
Care Coordinator

Melissa joined Bluebird Care in October 2022 as the Care Coordinator. Melissa is very experienced and has worked in care for 9 years in different care environments including complex care, supporting adults and children with learning disabilities and domiciliary care. Melissa enjoys meeting new people and providing care and support for elderly and vulnerable people to enable them to remain at home. Melissa has completed a Level 3 apprenticeship in Health and Social care. In Melissa's spare time, she likes to spend time with her daughter Evelyn and walk her French Bulldog Betsy. 

Alanna Gordon
Field Care Supervisor

Alanna started her career with Bluebird Care in 2021 as a care assistant. After 14 months she progressed and gained a promotion to Field Care Supervisor in November 2022. For Alanna, building close relationships with our care assistants and enabling customers to remain at home for as long as possible is the most rewarding part of her role. Alanna has always known that she wanted to work in the care industry, to support the elderly and vulnerable since she was young. Alanna has completed her level 2 Diploma in Adult care and is currently studying for her Level 3. Having done care for over 6 years, Alanna is experienced in most areas related to nursing and community care.

Matt Colbourne
Recruitment and Admin Officer

Matt has worked in the care industry for 8 years. Matt started his career as a care assistant and worked in that role for around 6 years, then progressing into a coordinator role. Matt spent about a year in a coordinator role then joined Bluebird Care in his current role as a Recruitment and Admin Officer in May 2022. Matt has a passion for recruiting people into the care industry because it can be an amazingly rewarding job. Matt feels working his way up to his current role has massively benefitted him as he can take from personal experiences in his previous roles when speaking to new applicants about how amazing and rewarding a career in care can be. In Matt's spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family and going on days out. 

Megan Smith
Field Care Supervisor (Maternity Leave)

Megan joined the Bluebird Care team in January 2022 as a care assistant, Megan quickly progressed to flex care assistant, then to Field Care Supervisor in June 2022. Megan has worked in the care sector for over 5 years and has vast knowledge and experience of care after working as a senior care assistant in a care home, gaining valuable experience. Outside of work Megan enjoys spending time with her friends and family. 

Megan is currently on Maternity leave and due to have her little boy in December. We wish Megan all the best on her bundle of joy!

Sean and Heather Price
Directors

Graduates of Cambridge and Manchester Universities respectively, Sean and Heather set up their company in 2013 after decades of senior management experience in the public sector. They chose the care sector in order to focus upon making a positive difference to people’s lives in the local community.

When not in the office, both enjoy spending time with family, and also watching and taking part in various sports. In 2018, Heather completed the London Marathon raising over £2,500 for the Institute for Cancer Research in London.

Lauren Smith
Registered Manager

Lauren started her career with Bluebird Care in 2017 as a care assistant. After 18 months she progressed and gained a promotion to Field Care Supervisor in 2018 before becoming the Care Coordinator in 2021. Lauren has since become the Registered Manager and recently passed her Registered Managers Interview with CQC the day before her 24th Birthday. 

For Lauren, building close relationships with our care assistants and enabling customers to remain at home for as long as possible is the most rewarding part of her role. Lauren always knew that she wanted to work in the care industry and support the elderly and vulnerable since caring for relatives when she was younger. Lauren has completed her Level 3 Apprenticeship in Health and Social Care and Level 2 Certificate in Awareness of Mental Health and Lauren is now completing her Level 5 Apprenticeship in Leadership and Management in Adult Care. Lauren is extremely family orientated and loves spending time with her 1-year-old daughter Annie.
