Bluebird Care Guildford & Waverley took part in the Dragon Boat Challenge on the 3rd July at Goldsworth Park to raise money for the Woking and Sam Beare Hospices.

It is the first time Bluebird Care Guildford & Waverley have taken part in the race and hope to make it an annual event. The team of 12 were up against 13 other teams all battling for the winner’s title.

Director Brian Colvin said:

It was great fun and it was a fantastic community atmosphere – with everyone raising money for a great cause. We hope very much to take part again.”
Team captain Florie Eross said:

We trained hard and we did the company proud on the day – we hope to be back next year to give it our best shot again.”
The dragon race and fun day is held every year in memory of Kris Cook who grew up close to the lake, where he pursued his love of water sports.

We would like to thank everyone who took part and those who sponsored us. We managed to raise £650 for the hospice!
