Happy 5th Birthday Bluebird Care Guildford & Waverley

Bluebird Care Guildford & Waverley celebrated their 5th birthday last week on Wednesday 8th June 2016, with a 1950's themed party.

As reported earlier this month Bluebird Care Guildford & Waverley celebrated their 5^th birthday last week on Wednesday 8^th June 2016.

The team put together a 1950’s themed party which included a raffle, a host of memorabilia which included lingerie, money and books. The event took place at a local community centre where the team entertained around 55 of their customerts with a dance routine to a 1950’s classic ‘Rock Around the Clock’, which was choreographed by Hazel.

Pat Ellis, from Farnham, is a carer for her husband, who has dementia. She also has help from Bluebird Care each week. She commented:

Today is lovely - there's been so much change in the last 50 years it's lovely to remember the 50s, the music and everything takes you right back."

The raffle proved to be a big success, raising £83 for Parkinson’s UK and our 3 winners were; Shelia Aldridge, Elaine Butler, Isabel Goodrick-Meech.

Training and recruitment manager Jayne Rowe commented on the event;

The team at Bluebird Care Guildford & Waverley would like to thank everyone who participated as well as those that attended, making it a special afternoon. From a number of calls we have received since the event from customers, it seems everyone enjoyed themselves. Special thank you to both Hazel for choreographing the routine and to Julie Hazell for making the cake."

Brian Colvin, director of Bluebird Care Guiildford & Waverley, said:

I started the organisation because I wanted local people to have the type of care at home that I would want for my own family or friends. Thanks to the hard work and commitment of our staff we have achieved that. We are growing and developing and there will be plenty of opportunities for local people to join us as we recruit more staff over the coming year.”
