Many of its staff will be donning 50s outfits and there will be a host of memorabilia from the era including 1950s lingerie, money, books and even bottled smells such as dental antiseptic and Parma Violet perfume.

Staff at the event on 8th June will be entertaining around 60 of their customers, with a dance routine to the 50s classic ‘Rock Around the Clock’ and there will be games such as beetle drive and tiddlywinks.

Training and recruitment manager Jayne Rowe was one of the original members of staff, she said;

It’s been great to see the company develop and grow over the past five years.  I started as a care assistant and progressed through the ranks to my current role. For anyone thinking of applying for a job in homecare, I am an example of how someone can develop their skills and have an extremely rewarding and enjoyable career.”
Brian Colvin, director of Bluebird Care Guildford & Waverley, said:

I started the organisation because I wanted local people to have the type of care at home that I would want for my own family or friends. Thanks to the hard work and commitment of our staff we have achieved that. We are growing and developing and there will be plenty of opportunities for local people to join us as we recruit more staff over the coming year.”
