The course, on 9th June, from 2-5pm, is for people who would like to learn more about caring for someone with dementia.
We have also pledged to improve the lives of people with dementia in our area by joining the Dementia Action Alliance. As an alliance member, Bluebird Care Guildford & Waverley commits to signing up all 60 of its staff as ‘Dementia Friends’ – ensuring they take part in training and awareness.
We will also offer an ongoing, free dementia advice and response service to organisations and businesses in the town.
Director of Bluebird Care Guildford & Waverley, Brian Colvin said:
Locally, our shops, businesses and organisations may want to become more ‘dementia friendly’, but find it hard to know how to achieve this. They may want to learn more about the best way to deal with people with dementia to help alleviate any stressful situations for them. We are in an ideal position to be able to provide this sort of support and advice.”
The Dementia Action Alliance is ‘hosted’ by the Alzheimer's Society and brings together organisations across England committed to transforming the lives of people with dementia and their carers.
