Louise and Jan, Care Workers with Bluebird Care Gravesham & Dartford have been announced as Care Workers of the year for 2014. The award is a great achievement and creates an opportunity to celebrate good care. It was presented by John Caller, Mayor of Gravesend at a special afternoon tea on 16th January. We were also privileged to have been joined by Councilor Tanmanjeet Dhesi (Cabinet Member for Business and the Community portfolio) as we presented the award.
Louise and Jan have been nominated because of their dedication and excellence in the quality of personal care and customer support they provide. Both are dedicated to their customers and go above and beyond during home visits.
Jan and Louise also work very well with their customers and understand the importance of helping them remain in their own home. Some customers struggle with the idea of needing a bit of help, however Louise and Jan understand that people are different, being very empathic and able to work at their customers’ pace.
One nomination received outlined that: "Jan works with me and for me and I trust her to never let me down".
Louise explained: "my role as a Care Worker is about helping people in their own environment and I like the fact that the simple tasks she performs makes such a big difference to people’ and Jan commented that: ‘as long as my customers are well looked after well, I can go home comfortable in the knowledge that I have made a difference".
