Customer Bernard, who is a World War Two veteran from Wilmington has said he was "deeply honoured” to play a part in the Remembrance Sunday parade at Windmill Hill Gardens in Gravesend!

94-year-old Bernard said it was a great privilege to join the march on Remembrance Sunday and pay tribute to his fallen comrades in arms.

Bernard served in the Royal Air Force as a member of the medical core and took part in numerous air sea rescue missions during the Battle of Britain.

Care Manager Denise and Care Supervisor Tracey accompanied Mr Brown to the parade to ensure he could attend and helped him to lay a wreath at the war memorial in Windmill Hill Gardens.

It meant the world to Bernard to be involved in the parade and, although it was a Sunday, Tracey and I were delighted to accompany him. We always try to go the extra mile to support our customers and it was wonderful to see Bernard play a role in the march; it really made his day.
