A local charity that provides support for isolated older adults and those with complex needs in Dartford & Gravesham has received our £250 Community Grant!

Imago Community is a social action charity that provides services to support independence, reduce social isolation and create opportunities for some of the most vulnerable in the community.

The charity will use the grant to support the social groups and activities it runs, including board games clubs, afternoon teas, fish and chip lunches and accompanied walks, to tackle loneliness and isolation among local older people.

We are extremely grateful to Bluebird Care Gravesham and Dartford for this generous grant, which will help us to tackle loneliness and social isolation in our communities. Our services help to reduce the demand on health and social care resources by those who are regular visitors to GPs surgeries and hospitals, many of whom simply lack the social support networks to keep them fit, healthy and active. We match volunteers with the clients to build their confidence and assist them to attend community activities, supporting individuals’ mental health via regular communication with others. We work to benefit the whole community by supporting the most vulnerable individuals within it.

Our Community Grant Scheme has been running for the past three years. The scheme supports local groups that work with older people by providing a £250 grant to a different group four times a year.

We are very pleased to be supporting Imago Community with this grant. As a home care provider, we understand the importance of social events in reducing social isolation and loneliness among older people in our communities.
