Following on from our very successful summer afternoon tea and Christmas events last year, this week we arranged for a group of our customers to enjoy a cream tea at local Millbrooks Garden Centre.

Our events are free of charge and make a positive impact to the lives of our customers, many of whom find spending time away from the home challenging due to their health.

Our office team arranged lifts for those who needed them and we were joined by just under 30 customers, their loved ones and staff for a rather delightful scone, sandwich and cup of tea.

Customers Doreen & Jog commented:
It is really lovely that we are able to join events such as this and it is great talking with the ladies.

We have both made new friends and think it is fantastic that Bluebird Care is committed to putting on events such as these!

For a number of customers, our events help boost to their social interaction and customer Bernard who we helped with transport commented:
Because my wife is unwell I am not able to come out all that often, however when I do it is really helpful to get out. The cream tea has really helped make my day!

In addition, we are committed to always making our events free and relative Gwen, who joined with her mother Edna, explained:
I work as a dental nurse and regularly spend time with people in care environments such as care homes and know first hand the impact that social contact can make.

I thought there would be a charge for the afternoon tea and could not believe it when I found out that it was free of charge! My mother Edna is not able to go out much and the afternoon tea gave her the chance to spend with others.
Our events are also really helpful for families as it supports the social interaction that they give and a number of family members have commented on how much their relatives enjoy them.

Our next event is a trip to Herne Bay in the summer and we will be sending out invitations to our customers very soon!
