With the sudden arrival of summer, it is important to remember that you can easily become dehydrated in hot weather.

We recommend that our carers keep a bottle of water with them, a good tip is to fill a wide-necked bottle with some water, but mainly with ice, so that it will provide drinkable water for some hours.

For our customers, the best way to avoid dehydration is to keep a jug of water or squash nearby, and keep taking drinks from it regularly throughout the day, as well as usual hot drinks.

It looks like the heat wave is here to stay. Take a look at this video from the NHS on how to prevent dehyrdation.

Dehydration means your body loses more fluids than you take in. If it isn’t treated it can get worse and become a serious problem. This video shows how you can reduce the risk of dehydration.
