Katie Dix shares her Community Dementia Link Worker Knowledge!

We are so impressed with one of our amazing care assistants Katie Dix for her outstanding commitment to providing great home care to customers who live with Dementia.

We wanted to share a good news story with our customers and our staff. We are so impressed with one of our outstanding carers Katie Dix!

She has gone above and beyond to deliver person centred care for a new customer, Jean. Katie made a call for help on Facebook asking to borrow a dog for a few hours, thankfully she got lots of replies and she went to pick the dog up before her visit to Jean.

She surprised Jean with the dog, and of course Jean was very excited. Katie and Jean took the dog out for a walk in the local park! Something Jean used to love, but hasn't been able to do recently.

Donna Jones, our Dementia Lead says "I am extremely proud of Katie. This is a real success story. This showcases our partnership working with other Dementia services. It has been a passion of mine to provide carers with the knowledge and skills to deliver person centred care to people living with Dementia".

"See the Person, not the Dementia"

Well done Katie, a real asset to #TeamBluebirdNGlos!
