September Long Service Anniversaries

This month we're celebrating three amazing team members who have achieved another year on their long service award.
This September, we’re celebrating three long service anniversaries at Bluebird Care Glasgow South. We love to celebrate our team members because without each member of our team delivering the high-quality home care service that we do just wouldn’t be possible. It’s even more special when it’s a long service award as the longer an individual has been with us, the more like family they are.
This month, we’re celebrating the following ladies:
- Margaret Thomson celebrates her 8th year with us
- Sharon McNeil celebrates her 3rd year with us
- Diane Rawlinson also celebrates her 3rd year with us
We spoke to the lovely ladies to understand why they love working in-home care and specifically with us.
Bluebird Care has felt like home for the past 8 years. I absolutely love working in this team and I’m proud to be a part of the team. I have been lucky to undertake different roles, broaden and expand my knowledge whilst participating in forums such as Scottish Care. Jane and John Perry have really shown their caring and compassionate nature when I’ve been through difficulties within my family life and that’s just another reason to stay - finding the right management is key. The best thing about my job is the customers, I just love going to visit them. I feel like one of the family.

The support I have received from Bluebird Care has been phenomenal. I arrived in Scotland 3 years ago, I didn’t know how anything worked, it was completely different in Scotland but Bluebird Care made my transition so much easier. Sharon and I started on the same day together and I am so happy that we are both here three years later; she’s an asset to the team as she’s extremely funny, warm and caring. I’m not sure why I decided to change my career path to work in care after 30 years in the corporate world but I knew I needed a change and working in care is highly rewarding. I have so many special memories from my time with Bluebird Care and I can’t wait to make many more.
