Meet The Team

Maria Lisi

Business Support for Bluebird Care Ayrshire, Edinburgh & Glasgow South

Maria has over 30 years’ experience in running several retail businesses and 20 years in property management. Whilst not specific to the home care sector, she has a wealth of experience to help support our 3 offices to remain high in quality, fully compliant with a little bit of fun.

Interesting fact: whilst she’s lived in Scotland since 1978, she’s fluent in Italian.

In her spare time, you’ll find her walking her dog Toby, cooking up a storm in the kitchen and spending time with her family & friends.

Amanda McBlain

Coordindator for Bluebird Care Ayrshire & Glasgow South

Amanda started her journey in care over 8 years ago starting out as a Care Assistant and she is now our Coordinator. While she takes ownership of Ayrshire & Glasgow South, she often spends time helping with our Edinburgh office.

She loves working in the sector as everyday is different and being able to help people remain in their own home surrounded by their home comforts is always extremely rewarding.

In her own time you'll find her spending time with family and her 3 dogs or she'll have her head buried in a book.

Hayley Ward

On-Call Coordinator

Hayley has joined our team as an on-call Coordinator. She has worked in healthcare for over 10 years with experience in clinics, hospital wards, hospital administration and mental health. With 3 boys in tow, Hayley wanted to keep doing a job where her passion for caring could remain but with work life balance.

In her spare time, you’ll find Hayley with her 3 boys and partner spending quality time or with a cocktail in her hand laughing with family and friends.

Diane Rawlinson

Supervisor for Bluebird Care Glasgow South

Diane emigrated to Scotland in 2018 from South Africa. She joined the Bluebird Care team as a Care Assistant and still says it was one of the best decisions of her life. Over her time with us, she has progressed from Care Assistant to Mentor to a Support Care Supervisor. She is now a Care Supervisor and supporting our and leading our Glasgow South team. Whilst her focus is Glasgow South, she still supports our Ayrshire and Edinburgh office.

Whilst the care sector can be sometimes difficult, Diane describes it as one of the most rewarding as you're able to touch so many people's lives for the better.

Diane loves to travel and learn about different cultures; she has travelled extensively throughout sub-Saharan Africa and North America and is now looking to explore Europe in her free time.

Tracy Plunkett

Field Care Supervisor for Bluebird Care Glasgow South

Tracy has spent 15 years in the care sector across a variety of roles. She has extensive experience working with unpaid carers to alleviate the burden of caring roles, and with individuals attempting to access social care budgets and resources using contemporary legislation.

For the past 10 years, she enjoyed being a part-time Personal Assistant for a lady managing her own package of care and really enjoy the variety and value of this role. She is now working as a Field Care Supervisor for our Glasgow South office but often spends time helping out with our Ayrshire and Edinburgh offices.

She is passionate about empowering individuals in any way that she can to enable them to live the lives they want to. Being a part of the care sector helps her feel inspired as she is surrounded by warm, compassionate people who are truly trying to make a difference.

She spends time with her 2 daughters who keep her on her toes and near financial destitution. She’s also close to her sister and her children, family time is extremely special. She loves white wine, a good book and lots of cheese and biscuits.

Ashley Duncan

Field Care Supervisor for Bluebird Care Edinburgh

Ashley has been in the care sector for 12 years. She started her journey as her middle daughter was premature and required a colostomy bag along with an NG tube for feeding and lots of extra support. Ashley was given training by the hospital so that she understood how to care for her daughter and her additional needs, she enjoyed this aspect, finding it extremely rewarding.

She decided to join the care sector and began working in a nursing home as a Care Assistant whilst she did her SVQ 2 in 2015. With a wealth of experience, knowledge, and qualifications under her belt she is now working towards her SVQ 4.

In her spare time, she dedicates herself to looking after her 3-year-old cob (horse) and you'll often find her there every morning and evening. When she's not there, she's finding different activities to keep her kids entertained over the weekend.
