Care Worker Belinda Opts For Walking Route To Boost Health

Retired nurse Belinda chose to use her new role at Bluebird Care to overhaul her health and wellbeing.

Bluebird Care care worker Belinda joined the team at Bluebird Care Exmouth in September 2020 at the height of the pandemic.

When Belinda joined the team of ‘Devon Bluebirds’ at the Bluebird Care Exmouth Hub, she knew that she wanted to use her new career as a means of overhauling her health and wellbeing.

Belinda, who retired from being a trained nurse before joining Bluebird Care, said: “I told them I would be interested in doing a walking route to get to my daily customers and they did me proud.”

She explained that “When I started I was 11 stone and 8 pounds in weight, at a height of 5 foot 3, I felt unhealthy to say the least.”

After just six months of working at Bluebird Care, Belinda saw a significant reduction in her weight.

Belinda said: “I felt happier for being out daily, walking in the fresh air and meeting lovely people in their own homes. I feel so humble and grateful for all I do for my customers and I truly love being part of the Bluebird family in Exmouth. And yes I've lost weight, kept healthy in mind, body and soul, so all good.”

Since joining Bluebird Care, Belinda has become a real asset to the team and is an outstanding care worker.
