Bluebird Care Exmouth has scooped the Fitness, Health and Wellbeing of the Year Award at the prestigious Exmouth Business Awards.

Our Exmouth team joined business owners, traders, civic leaders and East Devon's MP, Sir Hugo Swire, at the awards ceremony held at Woodbury Park Golf and Country Club.

Winning entrants had their name read out by Sir Hugo Swire before receiving their trophy from Chamber of Commerce chairman Ian MacQueen.

Bluebird Care wellbeing facilitator Phoebe says:

I personally believe that wellbeing is very important to everybody, especially for the elderly. Many of the customers that we provide care for struggle to get out of their homes or to see people their own age. It’s so important to offer the service because it means they can get out and about. It can improve their mood and their way of thinking, their health and wellbeing as a person, and most importantly, their quality of life.

Over the years, we have found that the activities we put on – games, quizzes, chair exercises, bingo – improve people’s social interaction and their mental and physical health too.

We currently run wellbeing sessions with customers at each of our hubs in Exeter, East Devon, and Exmouth.

Bluebird Care Exeter, East Devon, and Exmouth Director William Flint adds:

Wellbeing is an essential part of the care services that we provide for our customers, so we are very pleased that our Exmouth team have been recognised for their efforts in this area.
