Meet the team... Nicola Stacey!

Nicola is our Senior Coordinator based in the Exeter office - let's go meet her!

What are your main responsibilites in your current role with Bluebird Care Exeter?

I look after the coordination of Care Workers with Customers – compiling weekly rotas, managing annual leave and covering sickness. 

What do you enjoy most about your job?

I love that no two days are the same! I also enjoy being able to work so closely with Care Workers and Customers and achieving high levels of continuity which means that Customers and Care Workers can build great relationships. It is great to hear feedback from Customer’s families about how much happier and relaxed they are, now Bluebird Care are visiting.
 
What does a typical day look like in your job?

I tend to get into the office early so I can make a start working through my emails – I pick out any from Customers and Care Workers and action immediately. Whilst I’m doing that the kettle is boiling - need to start my day with a coffee!

From then on its dealing with the upcoming rotas, taking calls from new and existing Customers and dealing with queries from Care Workers.

I also work closely with our Care Manager and Supervisors to ensure that each Customer Care Plan and visit schedule is meeting the Customers’ needs and requirements and arranging and implementing any changes if required.
 
How many years have you been working in the Care Industry and how did you get started?

I started working in the Care Industry 13 years ago when I worked in the kitchen of a Care Home. I’m sure my friends and family would now tell you I’m better suited to being behind a computer than a chopping board!

Tell us a fact or something unusual about yourself…

Hmn, can’t think of anything unusual about myself – but I do have a slight obsession with cows! I love them!! Here’s a cow selfie I took!:
