Celebrating 300 Issues of Exeter Living Magazine.

Bluebird Care Exeter were honoured to be represented by an Exeter Care Supervisor and also a Live-in Customer in Exeter Living magazine’s celebratory 300th issue.

The issue asked various Exeter residents lots of questions about Exeter’s past, present and future. Here we’d like to share the extended responses from Christopher Long, Live-in Customer.

How long have you lived in Exeter?
I have lived in Exeter for eleven years, after moving down with my family, from Reigate in Surrey, to be closer to my brother, who is a doctor at the RD&E.

What pocket of Exeter do you live in and why is it special?
I live in the city centre, very close to the Cathedral and the Quay which means I can explore the beauty of Exeter on a daily basis.

What are your local haunts – restaurants, cafes, pubs that you like?
I enjoy visiting Chococo, on Gandy Street, which serves the best hot chocolate in town in a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Also, I like the Cosy Club which is local to me and has fantastic food and décor.

What recent openings in the city do you love and why?
I was very impressed by the recently opened Wasabi Bay, by the Quay. The location is stunning, and the food is amazing.

What do you think Exeter does best? What should we be proud of?
I think what we should be proud of are the local businesses and shops. Of course, the best event in town is the Pride because of the celebratory vibes!

Best Exeter-related memory
The best gig I have been to was Wildwood Kin, a local band, at Exeter Cathedral. The combination of their beautiful harmonies and the Cathedral acoustic made it a magical and memorable evening.

Exeter of the Future
What would you like to see more of in the city? What are we lacking that we could with more of?

I would like to see more accessible places for wheelchairs. Fewer cars and more space given to nature.

FINAL SHOUT-OUTS!
Let us know about something brilliant in the city

The Kids Hub Coffee, on Paris Street. A wonderful business providing a safe place for kids to play and explore whilst the grown-ups can have a chat. And the food is good!
