Our Training Programme at Bluebird Care

At Bluebird Care, our commitment to outstanding care does not stop once initial training is complete. Instead, it marks the beginning of a carefully structured programme of continuous development that builds confidence, deepens specialist knowledge, and ensures our Care Professionals consistently deliver a premium service to every customer.

Building Beyond The Foundations

Following our initial training, where Care Professionals learn the essential foundations of safe and professional care, they move on to more in-depth, specialist training designed to meet the complex and evolving needs of our customers. This can include PEG feeding training, where they learn safe, practical techniques to support individuals who require nutritional support, ensuring dignity, comfort, and clinical best practice always.

Dementia Expertise

We prioritise specialist dementia care, knowing it makes a real difference for customers and their families. Our Care Professionals receive comprehensive dementia training, including learning and development in partnership with Alzheimer’s Society.

We have used a state-of-the-art dementia bus, which uses immersive technology to simulate the sensory challenges of dementia, helping our teams better understand and support those living with the condition.

The Care Certificate

Within the first 12 weeks, all Care Professionals work towards completing the Care Certificate, which combines structured e-learning with practical observations. This ensures knowledge is not only understood but confidently applied in real care situations. It also provides a nationally recognised standard that underpins safe, consistent, and high-quality care delivery.

After successfully completing the Care Certificate, individuals have the opportunity to progress onto a Level 2 Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship. This programme typically takes around six months to complete. As they continue to develop and progress within the company, they may then advance further by undertaking a Level 3 Lead Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship.

Ongoing Learning And Development

Training at Bluebird Care is continuous. Through initiatives such as Policy of the Month, refresher courses, and ongoing professional development, our Care Professionals are kept up to date with best practices and policies, regulatory changes, and evolving customer needs. This culture of learning ensures standards remain high and skills continue to grow throughout a Care Professional’s journey with us.

Why This Matters…

By investing in continuous training, we ensure our Care Professionals feel supported, skilled, and confident in their roles. For our customers, this means reassurance, trust, and a consistently high level of care being delivered by professionals who are knowledgeable and well prepared.

This commitment to going beyond basic training is what truly differentiates Bluebird Care. It allows us to provide a premium care service – one that customers and their families can rely on, knowing they are supported by a team who never stop learning and never stop striving for excellence.
