Bluebird Care Edinburgh is supporting Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Awareness Week this June, an annual campaign run by MND Scotland.

MND Scotland is the only Scottish charity providing care and support to people with MND. The charity provides a wide range of services, information about MND, and funding for research.

MND is a progressive disease that attacks the motor neurones, or nerves, in the brain and spinal cord. This means messages gradually stop reaching muscles, which leads to weakness and wasting. It can be an aggressive and devastating illness for which there is still no known cure or evidence as to how or why people develop MND.

Jane Perry, director of Bluebird Care Edinburgh, said:

“We are proud to be promoting MND Awareness Week this June and bringing much needed attention to the work carried out by MND Scotland. We hope that by promoting this campaign we will help people in our local area who are living with the condition.”
