Dignity Action Day takes place on 1st February and aims to ensure all people who use care services are treated as individuals.

Dignity Action Day is led by the National Dignity Council, the campaign first launched in November 2006 and they aim to ensure that dignity and respect is at the heart of all UK care services.

The purpose of having an awareness day is to give everyone the chance to contribute and support people’s rights to dignity and ensure all individuals are given choice, control and a sense of purpose in their lives.

On the 1st February Dignity Action Day are encouraging all health & social care workers to promote dignity within their workplace. Dignity in Care have a range of resources available for those who want to get involved, whether this is a small event or providing someone with an extra special day which you can find here.
