Natalie’s June Cooking Session

Community

Last week, we hosted a wonderful cooking event with several of our lovely customers — and what a fantastic afternoon it turned out to be!

Natalie led the group through the process of making a delicious pea risotto, guiding everyone step-by-step while keeping things light-hearted and fun. As the risotto slowly came together, so did plenty of laughter, conversation, and shared stories. It was a chance for everyone to relax, connect, and enjoy each other’s company in a warm and welcoming setting.

Throughout the session, there was lots of chatting about how life has been going, swapping memories, and simply enjoying being together. Events like these are about so much more than just cooking; they’re about creating meaningful moments, building connections, and bringing a sense of joy to everyday life.

Of course, the highlight of the afternoon was sitting down together to enjoy the finished dish. The pea risotto was a hit, with its creamy texture and fresh flavour earning plenty of compliments all round. There’s something special about cooking a meal together and then sharing it; it makes it taste even better.

We’re already looking forward to our next get-together, but in the meantime, why not bring a little bit of this experience into your own kitchen?

Fancy trying it yourself?

Here’s a simple recipe you can follow at home:

Ingredients

  • Risotto rice
  • 1 onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 cloves of garlic (minced)
  • Peas
  • Vegetable or chicken stock
  • Fresh parsley (chopped)
  • Salt and pepper
  • Butter

Method

  1. Melt a knob of butter in a pan over medium heat, then gently cook the onion until soft.
  2. Add the garlic and cook for another minute.
  3. Stir in the risotto rice, coating it in the butter.
  4. Gradually add the stock, a ladle at a time, stirring regularly and allowing the liquid to absorb before adding more.
  5. Continue this process until the rice is tender and creamy.
  6. Stir in the peas and cook for a few more minutes.
  7. Season with salt and pepper, then finish with a little extra butter and fresh parsley.

Serve, enjoy, and don’t forget to share it with good company, just like we did!
