Social Care Help and Support
From help at home to financial support, do you know what options are available?
Getting access to socal care and support can be a daunting thought. At Bluebird Care East Suffolk, Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft, we want to help make this process as smooth as possible. We've summarised a few options below to help you choose what is right for you or your loved one.
Financial Support
Guidance on paying for care and support, and how to get help with the costs.
- Self Funding - This is paying for your care costs yourself.
- Personal Budget - Your personal budget is the amount your local council contributes towards the cost of your social care and support.
- Attendance Allowance - Helps people over State Pension age who need extra support because of illness or disability. You usually need to have needed help for 6 months, unless you are terminally ill.
- Personal Independance Payment (PIP) - Helps people aged 16 to State Pension age who have a long-term health condition or disability. It has replaced the older Disability Living Allowance (DLA).
