Why Choose Bluebird Care East Suffolk, Great Yarmouth & Lowestoft?

We Are Genuinely Local

Bluebird Care East Suffolk, Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft is operated by Loved Ones Home Care Ltd - an independent local business, not a distant call centre or a large corporate group. Our office is at Beacon Innovation Centre, Camelot Road, Gorleston-on-Sea - minutes from James Paget University Hospital, and at the heart of the community we serve.

We cover Great Yarmouth, Gorleston-on-Sea, Caister-on-Sea, Bradwell, and the surrounding Norfolk villages - as well as Lowestoft, Oulton Broad, Pakefield, Carlton Colville, Kessingland, and the wider Suffolk communities to the south.

When you call us, you speak to someone who knows this area, knows the local NHS services, knows the local geography, and genuinely cares about this community. That is not something a national provider can offer.

Our Quality Has Been Independently Verified

We do not ask you to take our word for the quality of our care. It has been assessed and confirmed by independent bodies.

PAMMS Inspection - 'Good' Rating Our service has been independently assessed by PAMMS - the Provider Assessment and Market Management Solution used by Norfolk County Council and Suffolk County Council to evaluate adult social care providers. We are proud to hold a rating of Good.

Our inspecting officer's words at the conclusion of the assessment said everything:

"You were good verging on outstanding, but as you know I never give an outstanding rating."

We are enormously proud of that result. It reflects the dedication and genuine care that every member of our team brings to their work every day.

Bluebird Care Internal Quality Audits - 90%+ We have completed two formal internal quality audits carried out by Bluebird Care's national quality assurance team. We achieved a pass rate of over 90% on both occasions - a consistent result that reflects high standards across every aspect of our operation.

Homecare.co.uk - 9.8 out of 10 Our clients and their families rate us 9.8 out of 10 on Homecare.co.uk, based on nearly 50 independent reviews. These are genuine accounts from real families - not selected testimonials. A score of 9.8 places us among the highest-rated home care providers in Norfolk and Suffolk.

What Our Families Say

Here is what some of the families we support have told Homecare.co.uk:

"I would like to thank all of them for their very professional services and their genuine care and help. I got lucky when we chose Bluebird."

"We had an extremely sensitive situation to deal with. I was so impressed by the way the carers themselves and the managers assisted us. On another occasion we had an emergency to deal with - the carer that came took everything in her stride and managed the situation and communicated with me until we knew everything was OK."

"The care that my husband gets from Bluebird Care is excellent. All the carers that we have are polite, respectful and first class. They look after my husband as I would. Nothing is too much trouble - could not wish for better service than what they give."

"The Lowestoft Bluebird team have been visiting my Mum for two years now and their care and support have been invaluable for both Mum and her family in helping her remain in her home and have some independence. This is of particular significance as Mum has dementia and the Bluebird team ensure regular continuity of the carers who visit and have therefore really got to know Mum. They are friendly, attentive, professional and kind. The management team are superb - quick to contact the family if there are any concerns and very prompt in arranging schedules and accommodating changes. In short, we are very happy to have the Bluebird team help support and care for Mum."

These are not exceptional cases - they reflect the standard we hold ourselves to every day.

Our Carers Are Thoroughly Vetted and Well Trained

Every carer who works with our clients undergoes an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check before their first visit - the highest level of background check available in the UK, covering both the children's and adults' barred lists. This is non-negotiable and applies to every member of our care team without exception.

Beyond DBS checks, our carers receive ongoing training in the skills needed to support our clients safely and effectively. This includes specialist training in areas such as stroke awareness, dementia care, medication management, moving and handling, and safeguarding. One of our carers, Emily, recently completed her Level 2 Stroke Awareness course - one example of the investment we make in our team's knowledge and skills every month.

We Accommodate Your Preferences

We understand that home care involves an element of trust that goes beyond professional competence. Many of our clients have specific preferences about who comes into their home - and we take those preferences seriously.

Gender preference If your loved one would prefer a female carer or a male carer, please tell us. We have both female and male carers available and will always do our best to accommodate gender preferences. We will never make you or your loved one feel uncomfortable for asking.

Continuity of care We always aim to provide a small, consistent team of familiar carers for each client rather than a rotation of different faces. Building a genuine relationship between carer and client - where the carer knows the person's routines, preferences, history, and personality - is central to the quality of care we provide. It matters enormously to our clients, and it matters to us.

We Are Transparent About Our Prices

We believe families deserve to know what home care costs before they pick up the phone. Our full pricing is published openly on our website - including weekday, weekend, and bank holiday rates, live-in care rates, and respite care rates.

Our care starts from £22.00 per visit on weekdays. Live-in care starts from £1,325 per week.

There are no hidden charges. We do not add mileage fees, PPE charges, or unexpected costs on top of the quoted price. We do not charge for initial assessments. The price we quote is the price you pay.

We Are Right Next Door to James Paget University Hospital

Our office at Beacon Innovation Centre in Gorleston is located just minutes from James Paget University Hospital on Lowestoft Road. This proximity gives us an established, working relationship with the hospital's discharge teams, and means we can respond quickly when families need urgent home care following a hospital admission.

We regularly receive referrals directly from the James Paget stroke team, GPs, and community health professionals across the Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft area. That level of professional trust is one of the things we are most proud of - and one of the strongest indicators of the quality of care we deliver.

We Are Part of the Bluebird Care Network

Bluebird Care is one of the UK's largest and most respected home care franchise networks, with over 200 offices nationwide. As a Bluebird Care franchise, we operate within a framework of national standards, processes, and quality benchmarks that are among the highest in the home care sector.

That national framework - combined with our independence as a locally-owned and operated business - means you benefit from the best of both worlds: the assurance of a nationally recognised brand and the responsiveness of a local team that genuinely knows and cares about this community.

We Have a Proven Track Record Since 2023

We began providing home care in the Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft area in 2023. In that time we have built a client base across both territories, earned a PAMMS Good rating, passed two Bluebird Care quality audits with over 90%, accumulated nearly 50 reviews averaging 9.8 out of 10, and established ourselves as a trusted partner for GPs, hospital discharge teams, and local health professionals.

For a newer provider, this is an unusual level of verified quality achievement - and we believe it reflects something genuine about the values and commitment of our team.

We Are Here for the Whole Journey

Home care is rarely a one-off transaction. Needs change over time - sometimes gradually, sometimes suddenly. A client who starts with two visits a week may eventually need daily care, specialist condition support, or live-in care. A family who first calls us in a moment of crisis may become a long-term partner over months or years.

We are here for every stage of that journey. As needs evolve, we adapt - adding visits, adjusting timing, introducing specialist support, or transitioning to live-in care when the time comes. You are never locked into a fixed arrangement, and you are never left to figure out the next stage alone.

We Cover the Whole Area

We provide home care across a wide area of Norfolk and Suffolk, including:

Great Yarmouth, Gorleston-on-Sea, Caister-on-Sea, Bradwell, Belton, Hopton-on-Sea, Hemsby, Ormesby, Rollesby, Fleggburgh, Martham, Lowestoft, Oulton Broad, Pakefield, Carlton Colville, Kessingland, Oulton, Corton, Blundeston, Worlingham, Beccles, Bungay, Halesworth, Southwold, Somerleyton, and surrounding communities.
