We are passing the Bluebird Care Baton for the Alzheimer's Society to our colleagues at Bluebird Care Worcester and Wychavon.
On Wednesday this week, we had our friends from Bluebird Care Sandwell bring us the Alzheimer's Relay Baton. They had received it from Bluebird Care Walsall and in turn we were taking it to Bluebird Care Worcester and Wychavon.
Then on Thursday 12th September, our Directors, Nicola and Adrian started off in Bewdley, with the plan to walk the 16 miles along the Severn Way, to Worcester. The idea was that this was going to be a lovely walk in the sunshine along wide paths next to the river. WRONG!. Suffice to say that although we started off in beautiful sunshine in Bewdley along the next 17 plus miles we encountered massively overgrown pathways, bridges with sections missing, torrential rain and pathways being closed with no obvious diversion.
Despite all of the challenges, we made it to Worcester, where we were met by Shelley from Bluebird Care Worcester and Wychavon who took the baton from us. A big thank you to Shelley for meeting us after our long walk.
