30th June 2026

We are incredibly proud to celebrate the achievements of two exceptional members of our care team following this year's Regional Bluebird Care Awards.

Out of approximately 12,500 team members across the UK, only around 300 colleagues were selected as Regional Finalists, making this an incredible achievement in itself.

We were absolutely delighted that Sian was selected as a Regional Finalist in two prestigious categories:

  • Care Professional of the Year
  • Customer Care Award

We were also thrilled that Lyndsay not only reached the Regional Finals but went on to be crowned Regional Team Player of the Year, bringing home the winner's trophy.

These achievements reflect the dedication, compassion and professionalism that both Sian and Lyndsay demonstrate every single day.

Sian

Awards263

Sian consistently goes above and beyond for the people she supports.

Whether it's volunteering to cover visits on her days off to ensure vulnerable customers never go without care, recognising subtle changes in customers' health, or building trusted relationships that give families complete peace of mind, Sian always puts her customers first.

Her commitment has been demonstrated through truly exceptional acts of care.

On one occasion, after arriving for a visit and discovering her customer was unexpectedly missing from home, Sian refused to give up until she knew they were safe. After searching locally and making enquiries, she discovered the customer had been taken to hospital. She travelled there herself, located them, ensured they were well, accompanied them home and settled them safely before finishing her visit.

On another occasion, Sian recognised the early signs that a customer may have suffered a stroke. Acting quickly and calmly, she contacted NHS 111, supported the assessment process and ensured the customer's family were informed. Following the incident, the NHS clinician personally praised Sian and her colleague, describing them as "a real credit to your organisation" and commenting that they would be happy for their own loved ones to receive care from our team.

It's no surprise that customers regularly describe Sian as a "God Send." Her compassion, professionalism and genuine kindness make a real difference every single day.

Lyndsay

Awards265

Lyndsay is the person everyone turns to when they need help.

As Supervisor and Acting Manager, she leads by example and consistently puts both clients and colleagues before herself.

Her award-winning nomination included countless examples of going above and beyond, but one day in particular stood out.

During the heavy snowfall in January, when many carers were unable to reach their clients, Lyndsay was up before dawn digging her own car out of the snow before spending the day collecting carers, driving them safely between visits, digging vehicles out whenever roads became blocked and even helping deliver care herself so that no customer missed an essential visit.

Her commitment doesn't stop there.

She has driven out late at night to rescue a stranded colleague with a flat tyre, stayed with a vulnerable customer until 5am while waiting for an ambulance before returning to work just a few hours later, and continually supports the whole team both professionally and personally.

Lyndsay’s compassion, resilience and selflessness make her an incredibly deserving winner of the Regional Team Player of the Year Award.

A Day of Celebration

Awards268

As a result of being selected as Finalists both Sian and Lyndsay were invited to attend the Regional Awards ceremony which took place at a beautiful hotel in Bath where finalists from across the region came together to celebrate excellence in care.

The afternoon began with a glass of prosecco on arrival before everyone enjoyed a wonderful three-course lunch, entertainment and, of course, the awards presentation.

Every finalist received a certificate recognising their outstanding achievement before Lyndsay was announced as the Regional Team Player of the Year and presented with her trophy.

There was plenty of celebration, laughter and even a little extra excitement during the entertainment, when our Director, Adrian, managed to win a toy car during the musical bingo while displaying an excellent knowledge of 80’s pop music!

Perhaps the greatest part of the day was meeting so many inspirational colleagues from across the region. Every finalist had an incredible story to tell, and it was a privilege to celebrate the compassion, dedication and professionalism shown by care professionals every day.

Everyone at Bluebird Care Dudley, Kidderminster & Malvern is immensely proud of Sian and Lyndsay.

Their achievements highlight the exceptional standards of care that our team provides every day and demonstrate the difference that truly compassionate, person-centred care can make to people's lives.

To be recognised as one of only 300 Regional Finalists from over 12,500 colleagues nationwide is an outstanding accomplishment.

"Seeing Sian and Lyndsay recognised on such a prestigious stage was incredibly special. They represent everything we stand for as a care provider, and we couldn't be prouder of their achievements."

Adrian Witt, Director

Congratulations once again to Sian on being a double finalist and to Lyndsay on becoming Regional Team Player of the Year.

You have made us all incredibly proud.
