We recently purchased 1,000 reusable face masks as a gift for our Care Assistants and customers.

We know first hand the importance of meeting social distancing guidelines and whlst we provide every Care Assistant with the appropriate PPE for their role, we wanted to go one step further and provide support to enable them to remain safe outside of their day-to-day roles.

Many of our customers feel safest in their own home. However, they also love popping out locally to shops, parks and restaurants. Our face masks have helped them to feel more confident as they leave their houses after many months.

It is because of this that we chose to purchase two reusable face masks for every Care Asssitant meaning that there is one available for them and a loved one. The reusable masks will mean our Care Assistants do not need to purchase disposable ones as they can be washed in between use.

In addition, many of our customers have been shielding under Government guidelines since March and it is our aim that the donations of masks will help our customers feel more confident and safe when going back out into the community.

Our customers and Care Team were very grateful for the donation; a reusable mask is so useful at the moment! Thanks to all our Care Assistants for consistently going above and beyond to help Bluebird Care customers return to the ‘new normal'.
