Dina Lopes was a finalist award winner for Newcomer and Lina Gusciute pick up a finalist award for Home Care Worker of the Year. The awards were presented by Coronation Street actor, Antony Cotton.

This adds to the finalist award for Bluebird Care Croydon at the Franchisee of the Year awards at the Bluebird Care Conference in October.

Bluebird Care Croydon had its new office opened by the Mayor of Croydon in October.

We are absolutely thrilled that against tough competition we have two staff who won finalist awards. These awards are great news and I am so pleased for our two care workers, it goes to show that there are some great examples of quality home care in the Borough of Croydon”

comments Dean Slade, Director of Bluebird Care Croydon.

The Great London Care Awards are part of the Great British Care Awards which celebrate excellence across the social care sector.

Bluebird Care was set up in Croydon in May 2010 by local Croydon resident, Dean Slade. Dean who previously worked at Croydon’s University Hospital witnessed first-hand the lack of high quality flexible care in the home services and wanted to give something back to his local community.

In little more than 4 years, the Croydon office of Bluebird Care is now providing over 50,000 care visits a year.  They employ over 50 local care staff which has provided a great number of new jobs to the Croydon area.
