Bluebird Care Cornwall North is pleased to announce the implementation of a new system, called PASS, to allow Bluebird Care staff and customer family and friends access to real-time information, care notes and updates about a customer.

Previously care assistants would have hand-written the care notes. By using the PASS smartphone and tablet app, care assistants can simply arrive at the customer’s house, read any background information and see what needs to be done.

With quick access to the relevant information upon arrival, the care assistant can then confidently offer a high standard of one-to-one care. As the visit concludes the care assistant submits an update via the app which is then pushed centrally to Bluebird Care Cornwall North.

A service called openPASS is available for friends and family members, providing transparent access to all information including details of the most recent visit. Access is free for 30 minutes when at the customers’ home or for £5 a month, the information can be viewed for a longer period and from any location they wish.

For us, at Bluebird Care Cornwall North, it is important that we offer the highest quality of care. By implementing PASS we will be able to avoid communication bottlenecks from previously using paper-forms and will be able to provide greater transparency of care provision for family and friends.

OpenPASS is available for all major Android and Apple smartphones. Friends and family can gain access to a customer’s records by downloading the app and scanning the QR code on their care folder at home. If you have any further questions about the service, then please call to speak to a member of the Bluebird Care Cornwall North team on 01840 212184.

The information is passed immediately to the office and alerts are raised if office staff need to respond to any problems. Changes of medication can be made immediately to MAR charts using PASS and all information is kept securely. All care workers can see clear summaries and expected outcomes at a glance.
