Some months ago, the Alzheimer’s Society approached businesses and services in Ballycastle in regards to becoming Dementia Friends.  Having received such a positive response, Dementia Friends training was provided.

Local people, businesses, services and the Northern Health Trust gathered to support the official launch of Ballycastle being named as a Dementia Friendly town.  On the evening, there were a number of guest speakers that included: a local business owner; a service user of the Alzheimer’s Society; Adrian Friel, Services Manager from the Alzheimer’s Society; Pamela Frazer, Dementia Friendly Community Support Manager; and, Hugh Nelson, Head of Community Well-being, Northern Trust.
