Bluebird Care Coleraine took part in the Northern Ireland sponsored hospice walk in Ballymena on the 14th of May and the Portrush Walk on the 11th of June 2016.

The Northern Ireland Hospice cares for those individuals with life limiting illnesses and is divided into two areas, they have both an adult hospice as well as a children’s hospice, which is currently the only one in Northern Ireland. The goal of both is to improve the quality of life for those individuals’ living with these illnesses as well as support their families during this difficult time.

The sponsored walk plays an important part in raising vital funds for the NI Hospice as the organisation relies heavily on donations to deliver their services, with 90% of the care provided being delivered at the individual’s home.

Bluebird Care Coleraine managed to raise £222 for the very worthy cause.

Sue MacLaughlin, director of Bluebird Care Coleraine, commented:

We were delighted to support such an important charity. We hope the money we raised will help support individuals and families in need.”
