Looking back on 2019....

At Bluebird Care Coleraine we would like to share some of our highlights of 2019 with you
2019 was a busy year for us, along with caring for our Customers, we reached milestones as a company, supported charities, and had some fun along the way!
New Holiday Care Service
We launched our new Holiday Care service in March. By offering this service we are hoping to break down barriers for people with additional needs to take holidays or breaks away from home knowing that their care needs can be met. We hope that the availability of this service will enable everyone to take a holiday with confidence.

Anniversaries
In July, we celebrated our 10th Anniversary. We are so proud to have reached this milestone, reflecting back on the last 10 years at how Bluebird Care Coleraine has grown, responded to all the changes in the sector, and have become a respected name in homecare provision in the Coleraine, Ballymoney, and Ballymena areas. We took this opportunity to celebrate with our Customers and Staff.
We also celebrated the 10 year anniversaries of 2 of our Staff members. Jackie Boyle, our Registered Manager, and, Olive Whitmarsh, our longest serving Care Assistant have been with us for 10 years. We greatly appreciate all their dedication and commitment to us and our Customers.
Bluebird Care Network
We took part in various campaigns from the wider Bluebird Care network. Some of these included: the Lip Sync Challenge, for which we enlisted the help of our beloved pooches; February Friends, to celebrate the great friendships and bonds we have with people; and, Pets Month where we celebrated our pets, and the happiness and companionship they bring us.

RQIA Inspection
Following the report from our last RQIA Inspection, we received excellent feedback from the inspector with ‘no recommendations’ required. This last Inspection report meant that for 5 years running we have received exemplary inspection reports with no recommendations which is an amazing achievement.

Supporting Charities
In September we organised a coffee morning in aid of MacMillan Cancer Support. This is a charity that we all hold dear to our hearts not only professionally, but for many of us in a personal capacity. We were delighted by the support we received at our coffee morning from our Customers, Staff, and friends. Thank you to everyone who helped us raise an amazing £350.
In December, we supported Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day and raised £52.
Training
We are fully committed to the training and development of our Staff. We are always working on extending our training programme and this year our Staff attended training sessions from the Alzheimer’s Society, PSNI Safe Driving, Mental Health Awareness training from Action Mental Health, and, Scam Awareness training from Mid & East Antrim Agewell Partnership (MEAAP).
