Bluebird Care Coleraine is supporting Time To Talk Day, an annual campaign run by Time To Change on 6th February.

Time To Change is a campaign that aims to change the way people think and act about mental health problems. According to Time To Change, 1 in 4 of us experience mental health issues at some point in our lives, but many of us are too ashamed to reach out for support.

Working in care can affect our care assistants both physically and emotionally, but quite often these issues can go unspoken. We are encouraging everyone to take their mental health as importantly as their physical health. On Time to Talk Day, we want everyone to start a conversation about mental health – whether it’s texting a friend, talking to a colleague or hosting an event. The more open we can be about mental health, the more we can change lives.

You can join in the conversation on the 6th February using the hash tag #timetotalk.

Sue MacLaughlin, Director of Bluebird Care Coleraine, said:

“At Bluebird Care Coleraine we are proud to support Time To Talk Day. With 1 in 4 of us experiencing mental health problems, it’s an incredibly important issue that’s worth campaigning for. The more we can encourage people to talk about their mental health as part of everyday life, we can reduce the stigma surrounding it and change lives for the better.”
