Meet the team

Shannen Millar

Staff Supervisor - Ballymoney Area

Shannen joined our team as our Staff Supervisor in our Ballymoney area after having worked as a Community Care Assistant for 8 years.

Through Shannen’s career in care she has gained great knowledge, skills, and experience, which we are delighted she is sharing with our team.

As Staff Supervisor, Shannen supports our care assistants in their caring role in the community.  Shannen provides this support through regular supervisions during customer visits, one-to-one reviews, and being on-hand to answer any queries or concerns they may have.  Shannen liases closely with our care assistants, customers, families, Customer Supervisor, and Operations team to ensure our customers are receiving the highest standard of care.

Shannen’s care and compassion for our customers, and her dedicated and supportive approach to our care assistants has enabled her to shine as Staff Supervisor.

Irene Todd

Staff Supervisor - Ballymena Area

Irene joined our Bluebird Care team as a community care assistant, and although she had no previous care experience her natural compassion for customers and her ability to build positive working relationships with customers and colleagues saw her develop naturally as a care assistant and progress to Staff Supervisor.

Irene supports our care assistants in their caring role through regular supervisions during customer visits, one-to-one reviews, and being available to answer any concerns or queries our care assistants may have.  Irene works closely with our Customer Supervisor, our care assistants, customers, families, and our Operations team to ensure our customers are receiving the best care to suit their needs.

Fiona Kilgore

Live-in Care Supervisor

Fiona joined our team as a Care Assistant in October 2021.  As a naturally caring person who has cared for family and friends for many years, Fiona decided to change careers from the travel and leisure industry to join Bluebird Care.

Fiona quickly adapted to her role as care assistant, delivering excellent care and building a great rapport with her customers and colleagues.  Fiona accepted the position of Live-in Care Supervisor in January 2022.  Fiona’s experience of leading a team and managing client accounts in her previous role, are skills that she has been able to transfer into her new role.

As our Live-in Care Supervisor Fiona’s role is to oversee our Live-in Care service, and support both our customers and care assistants.  Fiona is responsible for meeting with all new Live-in Care customers, setting up their care plans, keeping in regular contact with them and reviewing their care.  Fiona liaises with families and health professionals to ensure their care needs are being met.  Fiona also supports our Live-in care assistants by answering any queries or concerns they have and by completing regular supervisions with them.

After finishing her post-graduate studies in Social Work, Karen joined the Bluebird Care team in 2010 and was appointed as Care Co-ordinator after a short time.  During this time, Karen brought valuable knowledge and skills from her social work training and gained a great working knowledge of the business from her Care Co-ordinator role.

Karen moved into her role as Business Development Manager in February 2016. Karen’s personal and professional values and standards, coupled with her caring and compassionate nature makes her an excellent advocate for Bluebird Care Coleraine.
