Living Wage Employer

Published: 25/05/2022

We are delighted to announce we have been accredited as a living wage employer.

Earlier this year we were delighted to announce that we increased our pay rates by 11%. This increase now means that we offer rates that make us a “Living Wage” employer.

Our Living Wage commitment will see each of our employees earn a minimum hourly wage of £10.40, a significant increase on the government’s set minimum wage for over 23s of £9.50 per hour.

We have committed to pay the real Living Wage to reward our employees with a fair day’s pay in return for a hard day’s work caring for people in our local community. We are really proud of this commitment and would love you to share the good news with you all.

“We are delighted to reward our amazing staff, who work so hard for our customers, with a deserved increase in wages. We recognise that paying the real Living Wage is the mark of a responsible employer ,and believe that a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay.
The decision to boost the hourly pay by such an extent is to celebrate the continued commitment and hard work of the whole care team. I also wanted to make sure that this increase will help to offset the increased cost of living for you all."

What is the Living Wage?

The Real Living Wage is the only rate calculated according to the costs of living. It provides a voluntary benchmark for employers that wish to ensure their staff earns a wage they can live on, not just the government minimum.

Over 9000 organisations, including ourselves, voluntarily choose to pay the real Living Wage because we believe that a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay.
