Something different every week
There is plenty to get involved with throughout the day, with activities chosen to encourage conversation, creativity, movement and a bit of fun.
- Simple games and quizzes
- Reminiscence and conversation
- Group baking
- Painting and crafts
- Music and movement
- Gentle seated exercises and stretching
There is no expectation to take part in everything. Members can choose the activities they enjoy and spend the day at their own pace.
A glimpse of life at the club
Recent Wednesdays have included bingo, scone baking, pottery painting and planting, as well as pom pom crafting. The group also has a say in what comes next, with activities for the following week chosen together.

A personal touch
Our team understands that everyone arrives with their own routines, abilities and preferences. Sharmaine, Susan and Sharon bring patience, experience and plenty of warmth to each Wednesday, creating a welcoming environment for people who may be living with memory difficulties or reduced mobility.
The team can also support members with their daytime medication, following their individual care plans.
Keeping an eye on wellbeing
Looking after wellbeing is part of every Social Club day. Our team carries out regular observation checks during each visit, reviewed using the NHS NEWS2 system. This helps identify potential changes or concerns at an early stage, with additional monitoring available for members considered at risk.

Join in, or simply enjoy the company
There is no pressure to join every activity. Members can take part in a game or craft, settle down with a paper, enjoy a cup of tea or simply spend time chatting with others.
Everyone is encouraged to enjoy the day in their own way, with the team on hand to make sure nobody feels left behind.

Good food, good company
There is always time for a drink and a chat, with tea and coffee served throughout the day, including decaffeinated options and sweeteners. The team keeps an eye on hydration and regularly offers drinks throughout the day. Warm or cold lunches are freshly prepared, with food allergies and individual preferences taken into account.

Friendly and lovely tea.
