At Bluebird Care (Chesterfield & NE Derbyshire), we've built a team that reflects everything we believe great care should look like: experienced, compassionate, and genuinely invested in the people they support.

We may be a newer franchise, established in 2021, but the team we've assembled brings decades of combined care experience and an energy that drives the branch forward every day. We'd like to introduce you to the people making it happen.

Lynsey Howland, Registered Care Manager
Lynsey's route into care came via a background in working with children and young people, an origin that has shaped the empathy, patience and developmental instinct she brings to everything she does at Bluebird Care. She joined the Sheffield branch initially as a trainer, progressing through Deputy Care Manager to Registered Care Manager before taking on dual registration across the Chesterfield & NE Derbyshire branch too, a significant responsibility that reflects the trust and confidence the organisation has in her leadership. Lynsey is responsible for quality monitoring and the implementation of strategies to deliver high-quality, safe and effective home care across both franchises. She works closely with the local management teams, ensuring they have the training and development opportunities to grow as leaders, because she understands that the quality of the team directly determines the quality of the care. Her approach is rigorous and people-focused in equal measure. Standards matter to Lynsey, but so do the individuals, staff and customers alike, behind every care visit.

Emma-Louise Sandy, Deputy Care Manager
Emma joined the Chesterfield & NE Derbyshire branch as a Care Supervisor, bringing with her experience from a previous care assistant role, and, perhaps more unusually, a background in managing teams at a storage facility. That combination of care knowledge and operational management experience has proven to be a genuinely valuable one. As Deputy Care Manager, Emma has taken on a wide range of responsibilities that reflect both her capability and her commitment. She leads on any complaints or incidents and serves as the branch's Safeguarding Lead, roles that demand sound judgement, clear communication and the ability to act with care under pressure. She is also a qualified trainer across all core care skills as well as a number of specialist areas, ensuring that the Chesterfield team is well-equipped to support customers with a full range of needs. Emma is focused and forward-looking. Her aim is to drive the Chesterfield branch forward, building a high-quality care team that delivers consistently excellent care to every customer it serves.

Lauren Perkins, Care Supervisor
Lauren brings an interesting and valuable combination of backgrounds to her role as Care Supervisor. Before entering the care sector, she worked in accounts, a world that demands precision, reliability and attention to process. She then worked as a care assistant at another provider before joining Bluebird Care, and the blend of those experiences has shaped someone who is both practically skilled and professionally organised. In her supervisory role, Lauren supports and guides the care team out in the community, helping staff build their confidence, particularly when working with customers who have more specialised care needs. That confidence-building is something Lauren is genuinely passionate about. She has also become a qualified trainer in key care skills, taking that support a step further through refresher training sessions where staff can review real case studies and scenarios in a safe learning environment. Lauren believes that a well-supported care team delivers better care, and everything she does in her role is aimed at making that a reality.
