3 years together!

25/02/2021

It is always special when we celebrate Long Service Awards but this is even more special as they both started together, did their training together and are now working closely together on the management team! 3 years on and still together!

Here are their stories:

Nerys

Since joining us 3 years ago Nerys has grown and grown in her role, stepping up to the challenge and successfully achieving along the way.  Nerys cares passionately about the quality of care we deliver and in developing positive relationships with the customers, their families and any medical professional who are involved in their care.  She is an asset to the team and who knows what the future has to hold!

In Nerys’s own words:

“I have worked for Bluebird Care now for 3 years and can honestly say, I've never been happier!  Before joining I was running my own little business but decided I need a change.  I started as a Care Assistant and went from house to house helping people from early in the morning through to night calls, starting and ending their days.  Soon enough it didn’t feel like going to work, it was more going to see your friends every day.  When I had my end of probation meeting 6 months later, I was asked to join the office team as a Supervisor as they had seen my potential and dedication to the role, I was a little unsure at first, but the support I received was amazing from a strong caring office team.  I was encouraged to complete my Level 3 in Health and Social Care and I soon blossomed in my role enabling me to help people in different ways, from still looking after my customers to bringing new customers home from hospital safely.  I knew this is what I was supposed to be doing in my career.  I have had the honour of meeting, looking after and being looked after by some very special people.  A year ago, I was promoted to Deputy Manager with some training responsibilities too.  It is so rewarding as I get to meet new carers from the interview stage, train them and watch them begin their journey as I did 3 years ago. I have recently started my Level 4 in Health and Social Care with the support from the team in the office.  I am looking forward to seeing what the next 3 years will bring me!”

Jess

Jess came to us not long after completing her A levels and having some experience working in a care home.  Jess worked hard as a Care Assistant and always ensuring she gave her best, developing positive working relationships with all the people she cared for in the community.  She enjoyed her role and took it seriously ensuring she remained trustworthy, dependable and most of all caring.  We could see that Jess showed potential in developing her career within Bluebird Care.  Through supervisions a seed was planted to see if Jess wanted to develop further and see what her hopes and ambitions were.  Jess was keen to do ‘a little more’ and started to support with compliance, reviews and taking on new packages of care.  As she demonstrated her abilities so effectively, when an opportunity came for her to step up officially, she did so and we have to say has done very well.  Jess is ambitious and we will support her in achieving her dreams.

In Jess’s words:

“With the help of Bluebird Care I am proud of the work I do, the difference I make and the person I have become.”

We are so pleased and proud of both Jess and Nerys for all their dedication and ambition they have shown towards being part of our Outstanding team at Bluebird Care.  Here are to many more years working together!
