On Saturday 25th July, Care Manager Jayne ran a Bluebird Care Cheshire East ”bottle” stall at the Sydney Arms in Crewe.

Care Manager Jayne ran a Bluebird Care Cheshire East ”bottle” stall at the Sydney Arms in Crewe last weekend to help raise funds for the Epilepsy Society. The day was organised by Deborah Woodfine for 13 year old son Christopher (pictured with Jayne).

Chris has been supported at home by Bluebird Care for over 5 years. Having West Syndrome, a rare form of epilepsy, together with some learning difficulties means Chris struggles to express his needs which frustrates him. The aim of the day was to raise funds for the society in order Chris could have a communication aid to better help him say simple words like “please”, “thank you”, “mum” and “dad”, as well naming his favourite pets!

A total of £1400 was raised and a great fun day for all. Bluebird Care staff supplied the bottles for our stall to make our contribution. Jayne comments:

We’ve watched Chris grow over the years, helping him get ready for school in the morning; assisting with his medications and learning from him how he likes to communicate. It would be great for Chris to have a communication aid to assist him further and today has gone a long way towards his wish.”
