Jaqlyn's Story

I joined Bluebird Care Cheshire East as a supervisor in October 2015 having worked in the care sector for five and a half years. After being here for nearly a year, in January 2017 I was promoted to lead supervisor. My role allows me to experience both an office environment as well as being out in the field, dividing my time to meet the needs of our customers as well as our dedicated team of care assistants.

As part of my role I aim to ensure that all of our customers receive the highest quality of care and support possible, allowing them to remain safe and comfortable in their own homes. I also recognise the importance of maintaining a strong workforce, making sure the team feels valued and supported in their responsibilities for delivering a first class service.

Part of being a lead supervisor is to manage the wider team of supervisors and our care assistants, ensuring each member delivers safe, effective care and support that responds to each customer’s individual needs and preferences.

At Bluebird Care Cheshire East we believe that each customer should live their life the way that they choose for as long as they are able to. We respect our customers’ choices and promote their dignity and privacy at all times.

On a day to day basis I assess and reassess customers’ needs and manage and resolve any issues that customers and staff are facing. I also supervise and train new and existing staff and manage quality assurance processes to meet CQC standards.

Bluebird Care Cheshire East is a great place to work with career progression opportunities and everything we do is a team effort. My new role is allowing me the opportunity to grow and develop my skills and gain more experience in people management. Bluebird Care Cheshire East support the development and career progression of their team members and I am currently working on my level 5 qualification; Leadership in Health and Social Care.

I am looking forward to a long and happy future with Bluebird Care Cheshire East.

Paula's Story

I joined the team at Bluebird Care Cheshire East in October 2012 as a care assistant. I arrived with no experience in social care, but quickly realised that this was the career path I should have been in all along.

After completing my induction and training programme I came to realise my real passion was helping others. I enjoy all the work I do with both older people as well as children with disabilities. I find the work varies and thus does not become boring. Each day is a new challenge which I look forward to.

Most recently I have been promoted to support supervisor, a role that has given me a whole new outlook on the team I work with. I am now assisting others to become care assistants and provide a high quality home care service to our customers.

My new role involves supervising the team, assisting with reviews of customers, training as well as maintaining and monitoring the quality of the service we deliver to ensure we meet the values of the brand. I also deliver care directly to our customers, this dual role is important to me because it allows me to see the operations from two perspectives. I can see the daily challenges that our care assistant team face, as well as having the knowledge of what goes on behind the scenes in terms of safe practice and management.

I thoroughly enjoy my role and I am grateful for the career opportunities that have been presented to me. There is a great feel for career progression within the team and I have received excellent support from Bluebird Care Cheshire East to complete a level 3 diploma in Health and Social Care.

I feel very proud of my achievements and look forward to continuing my career progression with Bluebird Care Cheshire East.
