Christmas is all about spending quality time with family and friends. However, nearly half a million elderly people will be spending this Christmas alone. Loneliness is a reality that a lot of older people face all year round, but the festive season is particularly difficult with memories of lost loved ones and long-lost family Christmases.

No one should feel lonely, especially at Christmas, that’s why we would like to encourage everyone to ensure that the elderly people in the local community don’t feel alone. Whether it’s a quick chat, a cup of tea, a film viewing or anything else that can be enjoyed with company - it will make all the difference to that elderly person, knowing that you have taken the time to provide companionship.

Homecare is a year-round service and throughout the festive season, our Bluebird Team like to go above and beyond to make sure that elderly people have the support and reassurance they need. Our visits can make a huge difference to those that are lonely at this time of year, providing anything from half an hour, to a few hours of company and support – ensuring that the elderly person doesn’t feel isolated and receives the best quality of home care.

If you would like to find out more about how Bluebird Care can help you or a loved one through the festive period, call the team today on 01525 713389.
