Mr M was fully immobile and had difficulty communicating his wishes clearly. Neuro Rehabilitation commenced working with Mr M a few days after he was discharged from hospital, during their time with him they managed to support Mr M in to a sitting position and transferring from bed to an armchair. Team West were given 4 sheets of exercises to continue the work that had already been started by the Neuro team.
5 months later and Mr M began to stand well and was able to communicate to his care workers and his sense of humour began to shine through.By the middle of September Mr M surprised me by saying “I want to walk”, neuro rehabilitation were contacted whereupon they attended and were surprised and pleased to see the improvement shown by Mr M, they went on to say that he was lucky to have care workers who had continued with his exercises.
Mr M has now started standing without holding on, he can walk and Team West are all hopeful that with continued care and support he will regain the majority of his independence and be able to grow plants again in his beloved greenhouse.
A big, big thank you and congratulations to “Team West” for all you’ve done.
