On Monday 23rd May George Morris, the director of Bluebird Care Camden & Hampstead attended the ‘Being Dementia Friendly’ event.

On Monday 23rd May George Morris, the director of Bluebird Care Camden & Hampstead attended the ‘Being Dementia Friendly’ event. This was hosted by Ageing Better in Camden in partnership with Age UK Camden and Camden Carers Service.

The event included an informative talk on the services and support available to those in the community living with dementia and interactive workshops, as well as having guest speakers from Alzheimer’s Society and Dementia UK. Guests were also given the opportunity to participate in practical sessions.

53 guests attended which included a range of professionals as well as members within the local community. Of those that submitted evaluation forms, 95% felt they had a better understanding of how to be more dementia friendly and 91% felt they left the event having more knowledge about the services and activities available in their local area.

George Morris, director of Bluebird Care Camden & Hampstead commented on the success the event:

This event has given those within the local community the opportunity develop their understanding of dementia and the support available to those living with the condition.”
