Forget‑Me‑Not Café – Uttoxeter

The Forget‑Me‑Not Café in Uttoxeter is a warm, welcoming dementia café created and run by the Uttoxeter Rotary Club. Opened in December 2023, the café was established in response to the growing need for supportive spaces for people living with dementia and those who care for them. 

Held every Monday morning at Wilfred House in Uttoxeter, the café is staffed by Rotary members and community volunteers, including our own staff, who provide companionship, reassurance and enjoyable activities for attendees. The environment is carefully set up to ensure visitors feel comfortable and not overwhelmed, with plenty of space for volunteers to engage, chat and support guests. 

Bluebird Care is proud to partner with the Uttoxeter Rotary Club, and we volunteer a member of our team each week to help run the café. Our role is to offer friendly conversation, emotional support and companionship to those who attend - ensuring everyone feels included and valued.

The café offers a regular programme of dementia‑friendly activities designed to stimulate memory, encourage conversation and bring enjoyment. These include craft sessions, sing‑alongs, gentle reminiscence activities and occasional special outings, such as the Churnet Valley Steam Train trip organised for café guests in May 2026. 

Importantly, all sessions are completely free of charge, funded through Rotary fundraising, grants and charitable donations.
