Care Assistant of the Month

Published: 29/10/2015

Congratulations to Jo Doel who is our care assistant of the month for October 2015!

Job satisfaction and flexible working hours are just two of the reasons why Jo Doel decided to return to care work, after having a career break to look after her grand-daughter.

Jo was our October winner of care assistant of the month – an award given to care assistants who go the extra mile to do an outstanding job.

I meet some lovely people in my work and it’s so rewarding,” she said.  “What seems like a small thing for us to do, makes all the difference to my customers and they are so grateful.

I have a real rapport with the people I care for and it’s nice to think you are making their day better. I work four mornings, which is perfect for me and means the job fits in with my other commitments. Choosing your hours is a real benefit and I think the job is suitable for people of all ages.”

Owner of Bluebird Care Slough, S. Bucks & S. Wycombe, Anne Inglis said:

“With her maturity, sense of responsibility and blessed with a naturally caring nature, Jo operates to the very highest standards. She is very popular with her colleagues in the field and with everyone in the office and is simply a pleasure to be around.

“She takes the demands of complex care assignments and other challenging circumstances in her stride, never panics and puts customers and their families at ease. Jo even helped out recently on her holiday! She’s a very worthy recipient of the award – well done Jo!”

Jo added:

You hope you are doing a good job, but it’s great to get the recognition and for them to say the lovely things about me when I won the award. I simply love my job!”
