Bluebird Care Bromsgrove & Redditch is celebrating older people this winter by hosting their very own event in support of Silver Sunday this October. With people now living longer, it is important that as a society we ensure older people still feel part of their community.

Silver Sunday is led by the Sir Simon Milton Foundation and first launched in 2012. It is an annual event that celebrates older people in our communities, whilst combatting loneliness and isolation by bringing people together. The event takes place on the first Sunday in October, with this years on Sunday 1st October 2017.

Events can range from Tea Parties to Zumba classes and much more.

In support of this campaign we will be hosting a Coffee Afternoon at our offices for our customers and people in Bromsgrove and Redditch area on 6th October 2017. Please let the office (01527 916442) or the carers know if you would like to attend.

John Jones, director of Bluebird Care Bromsgrove & Redditch, said:

Older people are a very important aspect of society and make wonderful contributions to their communities, which should be celebrated. We hope to bring everyone together to celebrate their contribution, as well as providing a social occasion for everyone to enjoy in our community.
