Beth Sturgis, care assistant at Bluebird Care Plymouth & South Hams has written an open letter telling the true story of what it is to be a care assistant and the many roles she plays on a daily basis.

The purpose of Beth's open letter posted on her own Facebook page was to educate those around her that yes her role may involve tasks that not everyone would want to do, but that is not all she does.

Today I was a cleaner, a cook, a hand to hold, a friendly face, a washer, a dresser, a helper, a CARER; today I was human.
Whilst her job is not easy, Beth does it because like so many others at Bluebird Care, she cares.

Proud to be a care assistant at Bluebird Care, Beth commented on how anyone considering a role in the care industry should just take the leap as she should pick her role over working in retail anyday.

Beth's open letter on Facebook has since gained national coverage, with Beth feeling completely overwhelmed.

I am overwhelmed and shocked with the amount of likes, comments and shares my post has received.

Thank you for your lovely comments and thank you again to each and everyone of the carers out there for all you do. You make the world a better place!!!
