Lest We Forget - A Remembrance Sunday with Bluebird Care Bristol

Published: 11/11/2021

Remembrance Day is a day to honour the lives lost in the service of the country.

Every year, we put our poppies on with pride and take a minute of silence, remembering and appreciating those who could not be with us today.

This year, Bluebird Care Bristol is paying their respects by sending every one of their customers an enamel poppy pin badge accompanied by the 'For the Fallen' poem authored by Laurence Binyon.

Registered Care Managers' Claire and Louise spoke about the importance of Remembrance Day at Bluebird Care Bristol:

"It's important to recognise and honour those who have fallen for us to have our freedom. Many of our customers have a connection to the veterans that fought in World War One and Two, with their parents, uncles, friends, or even themselves having a story to tell.

We want to acknowledge their efforts and show our respects to our customers and their loved ones."

John, a Bluebird Care Bristol customer was incredibly touched to receive the Poppy & poem, and brought back many memories:

What a lovely surprise, I cannot wait to wear this on Sunday.
